Dear Susan:
I have tried,
at your request, to relocate the URL of the website
where I had found the uncredited fragment of Nicaragua,
Esteli that I
described in my response to your attorney. Unfortunately I cant find it.
This is not unusual, since I do not--cannot--bookmark the
many hundreds of
sites I browse on a daily basis. Also, since it has been over a year
since I found this particular image, the history of sites
Ive visited is
no longer cached in my browser. I have tried to retrace my steps by
searching for images by key word as I normally do, but to no
avail.
Perhaps this is good news for you, considering the
constantly changing
nature of the Web, it is highly likely that the page
containing this image
either no longer exists, or no longer contains this image.
What I do
have and can give you is exactly the image that I saw
when I was looking for examples of people in states of
emotional distress.
Since I downloaded it and still have it, I enclose a
copy. This is the
image as it appeared on the website without any identifying
information of
any kind. [coming by post].
I want to stress
once again that I did not realize that I was modeling
my painting on a portion of your photograph. The portraits of distress I
have been making purposefully exclude references to any well
known
photographs. So for
both you and my intentions, I regret not having
recognized this image as such at the time.
Yours truly,
Joy Garnett
